Great-West is the local presenting sponsor of the American Heart Association’s Denver Heart and Stroke Walk, the Saving Lives Initiative and Go Red for Women. The Denver Heart and Stroke Walk on June 2, 2012, is a fun 5K walk to promote fitness and save lives from heart disease and stroke. More than 200 Great-West employees, friends and family members participated in the 2011 Heart Walk. The Saving Lives Initiative empowers people through education to take action in the event of a cardiac arrest. Go Red for Women is a campaign to raise awareness about heart disease being the #1 killer of women.

Great-West is proud to be the founding sponsor of the metro Denver affiliate's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. We have sponsored the race since its launch in 1992. In 2011, Great-West’s team of 283 employees, friends and family members participated in the race.

We are a longtime sponsor of Bike MS, Colorado's Ride. This two-day fundraising cycling event benefits the Colorado-Wyoming Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Great-West has fielded a team for this event for more than a decade and has given over $1 million to the organization through our sponsorship, employee fundraising and matched donations.
