Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Company (Great-West), one of the nation’s leading financial services companies, recognizes the need for fundamental classroom changes to meet new personal financial literacy (PFL) academic requirements in Colorado.
Great-West, in partnership with the Colorado Jump$tart Coalition, is proud to have created the Great-West Great-Teachers® financial literacy grant initiative to assist teachers in developing personal financial literacy education programs for students P-12 to meet these new standards.
$5,000 Grants for Colorado Teachers
Great-West will award up to 25 Colorado public, private or charter school teachers, grade-level teams or departments a one-time $5,000 grant to financially assist them with brining financial education into their classrooms.

Great-West Great-Teachers financial literacy grant initiative also includes:
- Two FREE Teacher Workshops
- An online resources portal with financial literacy activities, resources and lesson plans
- A recognition dinner each spring to celebrate the grant winners
- A media campaign to educate the community about financial literacy principles, raise awareness of the initiativeand recognize the winning teachers.

The 2012-2013 grant application deadline passed on March 2, 2012. Grant applications for the 2013-2014 school year will be available in the Fall of 2012.
